Ground-up office IT for a Muscat shipping line

The brief

Ruby Shipping Line, a shipping company in Muscat, was moving into a new office and wanted its technology handled as one job rather than a series of piecemeal fixes. The goal was simple to state and harder to deliver: a single, solid IT foundation that would be reliable from the day the team moved in. BudTech took on the whole build, from the cabling in the walls to the phones on the desks.

What we built

We started with the foundation and worked up. The office network and structured cabling went in first, because everything else depends on it. On top of that we installed a server rack and configured a single, well-specified server with virtualization, running four separate virtual machines so each workload stays cleanly isolated on one efficient piece of hardware.

On that server we set up Windows Server with Active Directory for central user management, so every staff member has one login that works across the office and access can be granted or removed in a single step. Alongside it we configured centralized, managed file sharing so the team could reach shared documents securely, and set up and tuned the company email for reliable delivery.

Every workstation was set up and protected with antivirus, and an automated backup routine keeps the business covered if anything goes wrong. For the premises we installed IP CCTV, and calls run through a VoIP phone system, so the office had proper business security and telephony from the start.

The result

Ruby Shipping Line moved into a new Muscat office that was operational from day one, running on a self-contained setup its team can rely on every day. Because one team planned and built the whole thing, the pieces fit together instead of fighting each other, and there is a single local point of contact for keeping it all running.

What it shows

This is what we mean by an end-to-end office IT setup: a new space taken from empty to fully working by people who install in person here in Oman.
