Overview
One local team for your cameras, from survey to support
Most businesses in Oman do not buy "a camera." They buy the certainty that the warehouse is covered at 2am, that the shop floor is on record when a dispute comes up, and that someone local will answer when a camera goes dark. BudTech installs and looks after business CCTV across Oman in person: we survey your site, plan the coverage, install the cameras and recorder, set up remote viewing, and stay on as the team you call afterwards.
That last part is the difference. A boxed camera kit from a hypermarket can go up in an afternoon. What it cannot do is survive an Omani summer on an exposed wall, record the angle that actually matters, or give you a person to ring when the footage you need turns out to be missing. This page walks through what a real business system involves, and how we build one that fits your space and your budget.
Why business CCTV is a different job
A do-it-yourself kit is designed for a spare room, not a business. On a real site the questions are harder. How many cameras genuinely cover the entrances, the till, the yard, the loading bay? How long do you need to keep the footage before it is overwritten? Who is allowed to view it, and from where? What happens to the recording if the power blinks or a drive fails? Getting these wrong is expensive in exactly the moment you needed the system to work.
We answer them before anything goes on the wall. Every project starts with an on-site survey in Muscat or wherever you operate, because the right plan for a two-room clinic is not the plan for a three-branch retailer or a warehouse in Rusayl. You get a system sized to your risk, not a box off a shelf.
IP cameras and analog: what we fit, and why
Most new systems we install are IP (network) cameras. They run over a single network cable that carries both power and video (Power over Ethernet), give you sharp 2MP to 8MP images that can read faces and number plates at range, and let you add or move a camera without re-running coax. They also support features an older setup cannot, like motion zones and line-crossing alerts.
Analog and HD-over-coax still make sense in one case: when you already have coax in the walls and want a cheaper upgrade for general coverage without re-cabling. If you are not sure which fits, that is the survey's job. We look at what you need to see, at what distance, and in what light, then recommend the mix that does the job for the least money.
Recording, storage and viewing from your phone
Cameras are only half a system. The footage lands on a network video recorder (NVR) on site, and how you set it up decides whether the clip you need still exists when you go looking. Two things drive that. The first is how long you keep footage. More cameras and higher resolution fill a drive faster, so we size the storage to the number of days you actually need, usually two to four weeks, and set the recorder to overwrite the oldest footage first so it never simply stops recording. The second is who gets to see it. You and the staff you choose can watch live and recorded video from a phone or laptop, on site or from home, over a secure connection, and nothing leaves the building unless you decide it should.
Coverage that matches how your space is used
Good coverage is about the right angles, not the most cameras. An office needs the entrance, the server or comms room, and any cash or stock. A shop or showroom needs the till, the door and the aisles, at a height and angle that reads faces rather than the tops of heads. A warehouse or yard needs wide outdoor coverage of gates, loading bays and perimeter, usually with higher-resolution cameras so a single unit covers more ground.
Cameras also pair naturally with two systems many of our clients add at the same time: access control to control who opens which door, and time-and-attendance to log staff hours from the same hardware. Building them together is cheaper than adding them later.
Built for Oman conditions
Outdoor cameras here live a hard life: direct sun, heat that shortens cheap electronics, dust that blinds a lens, and humidity near the coast. We fit outdoor units rated IP66 or IP67 for dust and water, mount and shade them so they last, and use infrared night vision so the picture holds up after dark. Because we install and service in person across Muscat and the governorates, a fault is a visit, not a support ticket to somewhere you cannot reach. We handled the on-site infrastructure for Ruby Shipping Line in Muscat, so demanding sites are familiar ground.
What a BudTech CCTV project looks like
- Site survey. We walk the site, agree what needs covering, and note power, cabling and network.
- Plan and quote. You get a camera-by-camera plan and a clear, itemised quote. No surprises on install day.
- Install. Cameras, cabling, recorder and network, done tidily and tested on the spot.
- Set up and handover. Remote viewing on your devices, retention configured, and a walkthrough so your team can actually use it.
- Support and maintenance. We stay on for updates, checks and repairs. Ongoing maintenance cover is available.

Where we work
Frequently Asked Questions
How many cameras can the system handle?
Our IP CCTV setups record from multiple cameras onto a central NVR, so we can scale coverage to fit your space: a single entrance, a full office, or several angles across a warehouse. We plan the number and placement of cameras around your site during the first visit.
Do you cover more than just cameras?
Yes. Alongside CCTV, we set up endpoint protection and antivirus for your computers, and we handle the physical groundwork of racks, cabling, and connecting printers and scanners, so your security and your day-to-day IT are looked after together.
Is this service available outside Oman?
This is hands-on, on-site work, so we deliver surveillance and site security in person across Oman. Get in touch with your location and we will arrange a visit.
How much does CCTV installation cost in Oman?
Every site is different, so we quote after a first visit: we plan the number and placement of cameras around your premises, then give you a clear, itemised price with no surprises. Get in touch on WhatsApp and we'll arrange a visit.
Can I view the cameras from my phone?
Yes. You and any staff you authorise can watch live and recorded footage from a phone or laptop, on site or remotely, over a secure connection.
Will the cameras work at night and outdoors in Oman's heat?
Yes. We fit infrared night-vision cameras and weather-rated (IP66 or IP67) outdoor units, chosen and mounted for Oman's heat, dust and coastal humidity.
Do you maintain the system after installation?
Yes. We offer ongoing checks, updates and repairs, and because we work on site in Oman a fault means a real visit rather than a remote ticket.
